Eco-Schools Award

November 2013

Miss Rumball and the Eco-Committee have just had an assessment to see whether the school meets the required criteria to be awarded the Green Flag Award. The assessor, Pete, later confirmed that we had in fact passed the inspection and he had this to say...

"Well done to Old Fletton Primary School!  It was a pleasure to see your school, meet the Eco-Committee and hear about the work that has been achieved. I was particularly impressed with the level and depth of knowledge on many different sustainability issues held by the Eco-Committee. They were able to articulate their understanding very well and were very engaging with me. The whole team were extremely enthusiastic and proud of what they have been working on. I wish you all the best going forward and it is great to see that there are plenty of new ideas coming form the Eco-Committee that they want to implement next. Congratulations of achieving your Green Flag award! Please keep up the hard work!"

November 2012

Old Fletton Primary School is proud to announce that it has gained a Silver Eco Award. This has been achieved following the hard work of the school's Eco-Committee, who have completed an environmental review to see how we can become more eco friendly. The whole school then worked together to improve the school grounds and to reduce waste.

Our next aim and challenge is to work towards our Green Flag Award (which is the highest Eco-School Award) and we are extremely lucky to have the help and support of Ikea Distribution who have agreed to help us reach this goal.
