The purpose of the author study is to celebrate a variety of wonderful children’s authors and broaden the children’s knowledge and enjoyment of them.

This is achieved at Old Fletton Primary School through having an author allocated to specific year groups to enjoy during a 9 week block. The teacher selects a class story to focus on from that author and reads to them everyday where possible. The author and text is celebrated within the classroom in designated reading areas and the children have the opportunity to explore a range of titles by that author.
